Back to Sydney :D

It's been over a month since my trip down under. So what? haha! Anyway, here goes what happened there. :D

This is one of the many blogs that is long over due. So here goes...

While majority of my blockmates and fellow Economics majors woke up early for the call time in USTe, I was heading on a different way. Most of them were in for some "soul-searching" and reflection of their four years in college and life in general, I was bound for some action-packed adventure.

I was really looking forward to this retreat. Aside from the fact that this will be an ultimate bonding experience with my block, this will also be my first time in four years. I haven't been to Calaruega so that's a plus for me since I heard it's a nice place and I've seen photos of it and indeed it's nice. Really nice. So I was all psyched up for this trip when I had to make a decision...

My Australian visa will be expiring on the thirteenth of March that time and I had to make a decision... ASAP! I had this on my mind since February came. My mother has been harrassing me since then to make time for this trip. I really want to. Mid- February, I approached my professor and Eco chair what was up for March. She said that we will be having our finals on the first week. Ayos, solved. I will have all the time in the world for my Aussie trip.

Drawback is the retreat. I thought that we will be having it before the exams only to find out that it will be after exams. I only have two options. To either go to this much-awaited retreat and let my visa expire (again!) OR go to this Aussie trip that was long overdue and miss the much-awaited retreat. In the end, I chose to take the Aussie trip and forego of the retreat. If I miss that trip, the Australian government might get pissed at me for letting two visas expire. If only I can get both of the best worlds, I would. But that wasn't the case. Trade-offs in life.

I packed my things a week before the trip and I found myself cramming for last packing activity the night before the trip! ayayay! While my friends were in USTe for their bus trip to Calaruega, I was in the lounge with my mum waiting for our flight. I was in spirit with you guys in the retreat. Seriously, whenever I would check my watch I would be thinking what activity were you doing or if it's break time already. But since I was on this trip, I might as well embrace the fun. :D

My mum squeezed in this trip for me 'coz she wanted me to go see Sydney once more. Fifteen years ago, I set foot in Sydney. It was my first trip and as a kid, I was really excited about it. :D The photo below was taken 15 years ago. I used to pose with my fingers showing my age. haha!

We arrived in Sydney ahead of our scheduled time ( bravo PAL!), mum called tita Amy to let her know we were already in. :D tito Jonathan came to pick us up and the trip back to their place took about 45 minutes of no traffic and freeway speed. :D Far eh? It's all good. Their place was so cozy and the kids were sooooo big. Aya is a teen now, Anika is thin as ever and Ali is a cute, big, little girl. Last time I saw her was in a photo as a little baby.

Next day, tita Amy, mum and I went around Sydney for my benefit. haha! We went back to Queen Victoria, Circular Quay, Darling Harbor, Opera House, Hyde Park and the Church. It was awesome to see and go back to memory lane. It was the same in my memory 15 yrs ago. If there were changes, I didn't really notice them. I love Australia next to Hong Kong. haha! It really is different down under. :D Who knows I might migrate there?

The next day, mum and I toured in Central and left our luggages in tita Amy's office. We went to Market City and all other places nearby. Tita Amy treated us out for lunch in a Thai restaurant. I must say, Pad Thai isn't bad after all. :D

My trip back to Sydney was a short one but all the time spent was really worth it. No dull moment for me. I still feel the same way the first time I stepped in the plane 15 yrs. ago, excited and ready to see a lot of things. :D

Special thanks to tita Amy, tito Jonathan, Aya, Anika, Ali for being sooooo accomodating to us. I would be grateful to you for the rest of my life. :D Also, special thanks to tito Rod, Uncle Vernon, their lovely girls, shakira and beyonce for the scrumptuous dinner, playtime and dropping us off to the airport. :D

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!!! Oi, Oi, Oi!!! :D I LOVE SYDNEY! :X 'til then...

Come on, let's all switch off :D

Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia with homes and businesses turning their lights off for one whole hour (earthhour.org). No wonder they were really advertising this event when I was down there. Aussies are brilliant! :D Let's join them by switching off our lights and other appliances.

Last year Earth Hour became a global event. All you have to do is switch all your electricities off for JUST AN HOUR. Our household fondly did this and lit only a few candles for light. This way, we were able to help contribute to Mother Earth. She really needs our help and it's a little thing to do yet a LOT of people failed to help Her.

Just take this- in our street, only four households participated. In the whole community, 20 would be over estimated. I don't know if it's lack of advertisement or people just don't really give a damn. This is for a cause. I encourage all of you to help Mother Earth. Join the milliions who are advocates for our home, the Earth. Let's make it billions this time. :D Sacrifice an hour please.

Flick that switch off! Join us for Earth Hour 2009. :D Enjoy the darkness and help Mother Earth. We can all make a difference. 'til then... :D

My college life is coming to an end PRETTY SOON. :( Let me take you back to my memory lane about my favorite subject: BOYOLOGY. :D My special subject about boys. :D I love eyecandies. :X Who doesn't?? So for the past four years, I've been on the look for eyecandies. Here's a list of who they are...

So from the day I enrolled myself in UST with baru, I decided to take up Boyology class. hahaha! Forgive me for the long list. Tomasinos can be oh sooooo good-looking if you just open your eyes. hahaha! My list contains boys that I had a crush on for seconds, minutes, days, months or even years! My lucky day ;P

* Feb. 28, was the last day of February, the shortest month of the year... and it was also my last day having classes. I felt so sentimental about it. Thinking back that day, it felt like an ordinary school day. The professors didn't even mention anything about it being the last day. Life is plain normal. My last subject didn't even meet us one last time before the exams.

Last week was expenses overload. Bayad dito, bayad doon. Gastos dito, gastos doon. For the first time in a long time, I had zero savings. As in sakto lang lagi pera ko. whew!

Pero matindi ang tawag ng gutom. Kaya kumain kami sa tipid meals ng jabi. Margie and I ordered together and the cashier was oh sooooo chaotic! Peak kasi kaya gulo-gulo sila. To make the story short, we ended up having an extra jolli hotdog! ;P

Nung binigyan kami ng number para sa order na iniintay, nagtaka kami. Kasi okay na lahat ng order namin. 28 yung number namin. So we waited for the "additional" order. It finally came. A jolli hotdog! :D So there, extra food for us. hahaha! Initially, we wanted to return it 'coz it was a mistake. But I remembered what my sister told me about a mistake like that. 'Wag na daw isoli kasi magugulo lalo yung inventory nila at mapapagalitan sila kasi 'di maingat.

I got lucky on 28 with 28. :D Broke but had an extra food. ;P February just passed by in a flash. ayayay! 'til then...

Livin' the MTRCB Chairman's life :D

I've been out watching movies the past two days last week. I felt like I was living the MTRCB Chairman or rather Chairwoman's life. :D I felt like I was evaluating movies left and right and choose which ones are good for the public. haha!

Rarely would I go see a movie in the wide screen. I feel it's a waste of time, money and energy. Pwedeng dvd na lang. Paulit-ulit pa. haha! So when I do go out and watch one, it means that I don't mind my time being wasted, I don't actually see it as wasting time. :D As for the money, I'd gladly spend it, sit back and enjoy the movie. :D

So after our product fair, joicey, ket and I went to watch You changed my life. Yes, you read it right. It's a pinoy flick that I love. :X I REALLY enjoyed this sequel. Awesome! ;P

It's a love story injected with some humor so that makes it romantic comedy. You wouldn't catch me watching romantic movies. It's suicide for me. Erlack! But if it's mixed with comedy, I won't mind. :D It's a great movie. Girl gets her dream boy. Dream boy is the best boyfie a girl could ask for. Sorry to say, Miggy doesn't exist in real life. Kaya naimbento ang sine. Para yung mga fictional characters eh mabuhay. Anyway, moral lesson of the movie is never make someone your world. Nuff said. :D

The next day, I went out with naj and ate to watch Confessions of a shopaholic. It was a good movie. I love her shoes! :X As in OMG! I could be the next Imelda. I wish! :D Becky struggles to pay off her credit card, keep her job as a finance adviser and of course continue her shopping spree! She then realizes Luke could be her someone... Moral lesson is live within your budget. You can stay fashionable with out going over your limit. Be wise with your spending. :D

I now want to replace Chairwoman Laguardia. Watching movies everyday and evaluate them. hahaha! What a wonderful job eh? :D Watching flicks is a sure way of de-stressing. :D 'til then...
