When it rains, it pours!

When it pours, it's baha! OMG! The other day, I met up with she, joicey and ket to get our eligibility certificates in CSC in Banawe. It's been a rainy week and that day was no exception. I hate the rain. I hate not seeing the sun specially during summertime!

Umihi lang ang clouds, nagbaha na!

So we got our certificates (DFA, here I come!) and waited for the rain to stop. When we finally conceded that it won't stop, we made our way and grabbed our lunch in mcdonald's along q ave. It was still raining...big time! So we waited. But we conceded again.

When we got outside, the flood was gutter-deep. We didn't dare go with the flow. Sobrang lakas ng "current". Finally, may naawa na mamang jeepney at nilusong ang baha para sa mga pasaherong stranded.

It was baha all the way and we had to re-route until finally, our driver gave up. From Banawe to Lawton, it took me and joicey three solid hours! Sobrang traffic at lakad galore. We walked all the way from P. Noval up to Lawton.

The best part was the bridge. Alam niyo yung bridge na nagcoconnect sa lawton to quiapo?? Quezon Bridge yata un, panalo talaga! If you need organic fertilizer, that's the best place to get it. Such a shame, I didn't have the cam with me for visual effect for you guys. Malay niyo, balikan ko para lang picturan? haha!

We finally got to lawton and it was such a relief to get my legs and feet clean somehow. Hindi ako kailanman binaha sa USTe. Except for that ankle deep incident but never that half-shin deep! And the water was soooooooooo murky with matching floating dead roach! wowowee talaga sa experience. I'm still waiting for the photos from she. Upload please. :D 'til then...

Sobriety is the Best Policy

April 4...

Prologue: Having fun is a reason why people get smashed. It could also be because of a problem. That is my personal opinion. We all have our reasons why we drink. I, for instance, drink for socializing and to have fun. Therefore, I am a social drinker. :))

This is quite a long post so I am warning you. haha!

I can come up with a couple more reasons why people drink but for now let's focus on these reasons. Over the weekend, my friends and I threw a graduation party. The very reason why we wanted to have fun, we're finally done with school! Though I am not really psyched about finally getting it done (wala pa rin akong blog about it oh), one can not deny that it's a good feeling to finally accomplish and conquer college. :D

So with just a few days of planning, we managed to get everyone partying with us. :D By everyone, I meant the people who are always on the go. Because it was just a few days of planning, expect the chaos that we went through for the party. The number one on our list was the venue itself. We had a "general cleaning" a day before the party and I am telling you, it was cuh-razy! Major cuh-razy but because we really wanted to partey, we made it through. :D

Party night was a major chaos! Kulang kami sa oras at usap. Fresh from guadalupe, we were all over the place gettting almost everything that was needed. We returned with the food and everything else when we realized we forgot to grab some paper plates! Que estupido! So another team went out to buy that. Luckily, we had bbq so that was the "appetizer" while we waited for the plates.

I can tell that everyone was hungry judging by how fast the bbq had gone. Finally, the plates arrived and it was chow time. :D Heads cooled as soon as their tummies got full. Shortly after, the main course came... the alcoholoc beverage. I wasn't up for drinking because I reprimanded myself due to a crazy stint. But because it was our graduation party, I waived it off and just kept in mind to drink in moderation. The night was going on smoothly. We were all having fun. :D I missed having fun with my friends. Usually, we go out on weekends. But that's just a few of us. So I was ecstatic that though we were still few, I saw faces that I rarely see during weekend gimmicks.

While almost everyone was drinking the night away, a FEW stayed sober and enjoyed the night watching those people get wasted and do crazy stuff. When I say crazy, things they wouldn't do when they're sober. Never would I imagine them do foolish things. haha! I was enjoying it... at first.

Things got out of hand, when people got really rowdy and makulit. As in major gulo. We were lucky the neighbors didn't report us to the security. We could've awaken the entire street!

Bottom line, guys we can all have fun and drink the night away. Enjoy the alcohol but KEEP it in MODERATION. I've had my fair share of wasted moments. One that involved saying "He made me feel sooooo ugly! And I'm like a superstar!" Oo na, ako na ang feeling. haha! I crush you ko lang yung boy na yun ha! I cry a lot when I get drunk! Ako na ang emo. haha! Another one that involved showing my undies for a free drink! Friends still can't get over this. The cream of the crap (haha!), kissing the toilet bowl because of too much drinking!

Hindi ako nagmamalinis. Nalasing rin ako. Nalalasing pa rin. Ang akin lang tamang inom. O kaya uminom kayo para magsaya at makihalubilo. Never drink to forget your problems. 'Coz I've been there ( He made me feel sooooo ugly moment) and believe me, once you're sober again, all you get is a major hangover and the problem is STILL THERE. That was the turning point for me. Since then, I swore to myself that I won't get myself smashed just because of problems. Malalasing na lang ako sa sobrang pagsasaya. :D That's why I don't cry anymore when I'm drunk. Wala na akong hang-ups sa buhay. Kung meron man, kaya ko na kontrolin ang pag-inom.

Don't let the alcohol get the best of you. Sabi nila yung mga naka-inom daw yung mga nagsasabi ng totoo at nagpapakatotoo. Hindi ko alam. Maybe it just makes us let go of our inhibitions. Those things that hinder us to say or do things when we are sober. Alcohol gives you the balls (sige na nga, courage) to say or do it.

Again, keep it in moderation. We don't need alcohol to say things or even do crazy things! Never again would I put myself in a position of making myself a fool. Kaya ayoko uminom ng todo lately. I'm doing my time. haha! Gusto ko gagawin ko ang isang bagay nang ako lang. Walang tulong ng alcohol. Hintayin niyo ang pole dance ko! Kidding! :))

'Coz no matter how drunk we get, whatever we do/say, it's still us. We can't really blame the alcohol for that. In the first place, we put ourselves in that position. So I say, sobriety is the best policy. Siguro ang corny na ng dating ko pero okay lang. Better corny than sorry.

Looking back at that night, I say I had fun. I am just trying to delete the not-so-good scenario from my stubbron mind. Guys, some of us just graduated in college. A few even graduated before us. Some are on their way in a year or two.

We're not in high school anymore. We're not socrates or faraday anymore. Get a grip and step up. I'm not ms. pressy anymore. Oh gosh! ms. pressy became a pasaway na nga eh. I don't want to be ms. pressy all over again. Step up and grow. Don't make me ms. pressy again. I hope you are getting me. Feeling ko kasi (oo na feeeling na ko) ako pa rin si ms. pressy, ako ang lagot sa lahat. I had to go through some things that night. Ako ang sumalo. My superhuman instinct was put to test.

IF by any chance, I offend someone with this post, I'm sorry. It was never my intention to do such thing. So that's it. To you, who patiently read this long blog, I thank you very much. :D Thanks for putting up with my sh*t. ;P haha! 'til then...

Melbourne escapades :D

Better late than never... Here goes my Melbourne escapades. :D

March11
Around 11:20PM, our flight arrived earlier than scheduled (fly PAL now). Mum and I waited for our sundo, Auntie Pat and her sundo team. haha! Welcome to Melbourne! It was a good ride going to Auntie’s place. I just washed up, changed into my jimmies and went straight to dreamland.

fly PAL!!! early landing :)
March12
Technically,it was my first day in Melbourne. I breathed all the Melbourne air I can get into my lungs. haha! Auntie’s friend, Auntie Marilou was so kind to drive us around the city. We went to St. Kilda beach. I didn’t know we were heading there so I missed flaunting my bikini . I enjoyed the sand, the serenity of the place and got a chance to do my “retreat” there. After our beach trip, we went to Fitzroy Garden and had picnic afterwards. Finally, we walked and took a free tram around the city before heading to our last destination for the day… Crowne Casino! OMG! The lady guard had to ask for my passport to be sure I was legal to enter. bummer! On the bright side, she said I was a pretty lady. haha!

Friday the 13th! Second for this year. They said bad things happen this day. I don’t really believe it. But that day got me thinking. First, I forgot my bag in Auntie Faye’s place. It was the only thing I had and I totally forgot about it! We went back for it. Anyway, while Ate Suchie and I were waiting for mum and Auntie Pat, it started to rain with the sun so bright. Result, my lovely rainbow! Also, Auntie bought me a top. yippie! The cream of the crap… nyahaha! We locked ourselves out! We had to climb the gate, break a window for that! Dahil ako ang maliit, ako ang pumasok sa bintana para buksan ang bahay! ayayay! So we decided not to go out anymore. On the boobtube, Zac Efron was in Melbourne to promote 17 again! He was so near yet so far away! I didn’t know he was in town! I should’ve asked someone to drive me to where he was! HOT, HOT, HOT! I will steal him from Vanessa. LOL
Hola Rainbow! :)

Before Breaking IN :))

March14
My relatives’ friends threw them a despedida party. My cousin and I went ahead, Auntie Belen’s son, Karl drove us there. I did things I never did before. Okay, not never but rarely do I do those things. I cooked (prito lang naman! pero andami nun ha!), washed dishes ( never did that in someone else’s place) and be friendly to hell! Usually, I am reserved but I had to interact ‘coz I was the only kid (sort of) and mum was having a mahjong session! We got there 1pm and left at 5:30am the next day! Susme! reto galore ang mga “aunties” ko doon. nyay!

it's past 1 am but we're very much awake!

thus, the vanity shot ;p

March15
I woke up just in time for lunch. It was actually the first day I woke up late! The window was replaced. After lunch, Auntie Marilou and Auntie Rose took us to the zoo. Nandoon naman na daw ako, dapat makakita raw ako ng kangaroo! It was really nice of them to take us there. I really enjoyed that trip.

kangarooooooo!!! yes doing the deed! :S

my aswesome aunties :)

March16
Last day in Melbourne. Took lots of photos for memories. We went for last minute shopping and packed our things. Super duper mega overweight. Gusto yata ni Auntie iuwi ang Melbourne! haha! Well, we got lucky.

last minute shopping :)

Oh yeah! Before I forget, people down there thought I was twelve! As in ten plus two! I'm like ten plus ten! hahaha! Aussies were surprised that I'm graduating from Uni (university obviously) 'coz I look like a kiddo to them. Meron pa ngang humihirit na ten lang daw ako! One stranger said I'm lucky 'coz when I'm 50, I'll probably look like I'm 30. true. haha!

I just CAN'T stand the accent! Galey! Effort ang intindihin sila. Sort of British pero hindi. Basta ganun. I had to strain my ears to get what they were saying! whew!

That was my Melbourne escapades for you. :D It was actually bitin. Oh well. Let me grab this opportunity to thank the people that made my Melbourne trip supertacular! :D I know they won't be able to read this but what the heck?! Auntie Pat and ate Suchie for being such great hosts, really making me feel at home at home. gets? ;P

THANK YOU!!! :)

To all my "Aunties" Belen, Marilou, Rose, Gloria, Faye and the rest of the Pinoy community there for embracing us with open arms. I'll see you soon. :D Of course, to my wonderful mother who was the culprit behind this trip! :D Hurray to you and our travelling privilege. Lastly, to God for providing. :D I LOVE AUSTRALIA! :D

Back to Sydney :D

It's been over a month since my trip down under. So what? haha! Anyway, here goes what happened there. :D

This is one of the many blogs that is long over due. So here goes...

While majority of my blockmates and fellow Economics majors woke up early for the call time in USTe, I was heading on a different way. Most of them were in for some "soul-searching" and reflection of their four years in college and life in general, I was bound for some action-packed adventure.

I was really looking forward to this retreat. Aside from the fact that this will be an ultimate bonding experience with my block, this will also be my first time in four years. I haven't been to Calaruega so that's a plus for me since I heard it's a nice place and I've seen photos of it and indeed it's nice. Really nice. So I was all psyched up for this trip when I had to make a decision...

My Australian visa will be expiring on the thirteenth of March that time and I had to make a decision... ASAP! I had this on my mind since February came. My mother has been harrassing me since then to make time for this trip. I really want to. Mid- February, I approached my professor and Eco chair what was up for March. She said that we will be having our finals on the first week. Ayos, solved. I will have all the time in the world for my Aussie trip.

Drawback is the retreat. I thought that we will be having it before the exams only to find out that it will be after exams. I only have two options. To either go to this much-awaited retreat and let my visa expire (again!) OR go to this Aussie trip that was long overdue and miss the much-awaited retreat. In the end, I chose to take the Aussie trip and forego of the retreat. If I miss that trip, the Australian government might get pissed at me for letting two visas expire. If only I can get both of the best worlds, I would. But that wasn't the case. Trade-offs in life.

I packed my things a week before the trip and I found myself cramming for last packing activity the night before the trip! ayayay! While my friends were in USTe for their bus trip to Calaruega, I was in the lounge with my mum waiting for our flight. I was in spirit with you guys in the retreat. Seriously, whenever I would check my watch I would be thinking what activity were you doing or if it's break time already. But since I was on this trip, I might as well embrace the fun. :D

My mum squeezed in this trip for me 'coz she wanted me to go see Sydney once more. Fifteen years ago, I set foot in Sydney. It was my first trip and as a kid, I was really excited about it. :D The photo below was taken 15 years ago. I used to pose with my fingers showing my age. haha!

We arrived in Sydney ahead of our scheduled time ( bravo PAL!), mum called tita Amy to let her know we were already in. :D tito Jonathan came to pick us up and the trip back to their place took about 45 minutes of no traffic and freeway speed. :D Far eh? It's all good. Their place was so cozy and the kids were sooooo big. Aya is a teen now, Anika is thin as ever and Ali is a cute, big, little girl. Last time I saw her was in a photo as a little baby.

Next day, tita Amy, mum and I went around Sydney for my benefit. haha! We went back to Queen Victoria, Circular Quay, Darling Harbor, Opera House, Hyde Park and the Church. It was awesome to see and go back to memory lane. It was the same in my memory 15 yrs ago. If there were changes, I didn't really notice them. I love Australia next to Hong Kong. haha! It really is different down under. :D Who knows I might migrate there?

The next day, mum and I toured in Central and left our luggages in tita Amy's office. We went to Market City and all other places nearby. Tita Amy treated us out for lunch in a Thai restaurant. I must say, Pad Thai isn't bad after all. :D

My trip back to Sydney was a short one but all the time spent was really worth it. No dull moment for me. I still feel the same way the first time I stepped in the plane 15 yrs. ago, excited and ready to see a lot of things. :D

Special thanks to tita Amy, tito Jonathan, Aya, Anika, Ali for being sooooo accomodating to us. I would be grateful to you for the rest of my life. :D Also, special thanks to tito Rod, Uncle Vernon, their lovely girls, shakira and beyonce for the scrumptuous dinner, playtime and dropping us off to the airport. :D

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!!! Oi, Oi, Oi!!! :D I LOVE SYDNEY! :X 'til then...
